Scatliff Miller Murray is currently involved in the ‘waterfront drive boutique hotel’ proposal that was revealed this week.
A “pavilion in the park”, the proposed new hotel will occupy a portion of the present gravel parking lot on the eastside of Waterfront Drive.
The site and context plans illustrate the much improved pedestrian linkages and connectivity thru this portion of the park. The landscape and architecture create a new public destination and exciting new indoor and outdoor wayfaring places within the Stephen Juba park experience.
The hotel and restaurant are surrounded by a new public plaza with outdoor seating and attractive urban landscape and lighting. The restaurant will feature a “dining in the park” atmosphere and be an inviting new place for local residents as well as the many patrons of the area’s cultural and sporting attractions. The present cantilevered boardwalk around the Harbour Master building will have a new vitality. Stephen Juba Park night time use and safety will be enhanced as the hotel façade fronting onto the park is transparent and lighted throughout the night. This proposal is still in the early stages and Scatliff Miller Murray is excited to be part of the team leading this project. For more information please see the following news related links.
